Behind the wide strip of dunes, an open landscape awaits with old creeks, fields and massive fortifications from three different periods. Cycle past the fortified town of Brielle, ancient forts and a secret German bunker.
 

• Vestingroute

It wasn't always peaceful on Voorne-Putten. The attractive fortified town of Brielle played a leading role in the Eighty Years' War and the heavily defended Hellevoetsluis was for a long time the home port of the war fleet. In between, there are two forts, which had to defend a water line in the event of an enemy harbour.

A walk on the beach, of course, but above all enjoy the unique Voornes Dune and Quakjeswater. Go along with a guide, because then you will hear all about the special flora and fauna in this area.

Visitor Centre Tenellaplas is located on the south-east side of the Oostvoorne Dunes. You can go walking, cycling, horse riding, mountain biking and enjoy the surroundings.
